History of Montblanc Writing Instruments

Montblanc was founded in 1906 by a Hamburg (Germany) stationer who set up shop as the Simplo Filler Pen Company. Two years later, the company started business in writing instruments. Three years later, in 1911, the name Montblanc was adopted and registered by this futuristic & iconic pen company to equate the qualities of its writing instruments with those of the legendary Swiss mountain Montblanc – a paradigm of European grandeur, grace and conservatism. It has never looked back since. Over the years, the company has carefully groomed its writing instruments to showcase European craftsmanship, tradition and exclusivity. Available in more than 70 countries, Montblanc writing instruments are endorsed by titans of elegance and style such as Dupont and Cartier. Montblanc makes its products available only from select, classy and svelte outlets, offering luxury goods to the elite with the alluring slogan: “Some luxuries are essential”.
